Kevin Feige’s idea was to give a human the thing

Man-Thing will soon be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, thanks in large part to the architect behind Hollywood’s biggest franchise. Michael Giacchino, the composer who made his directorial debut at Marvel werewolf at nightIt was totally Kevin Feige’s idea to include the fan-favorite Marvel character in the Halloween special, he says.

The director said, “It was Kevin Feige who asked me what I thought of him, so I said, ‘What, are you kidding me? It’s one of the best comedies in the world! “

However, Giacchino said the inclusion of Man-Thing added to the pressure on the project as he and other crew members tried to balance the character’s introduction alongside that of both Jack Russell (Gael Garcia Bernal) and Elsa Bloodstone (Laura Donnelly).

It added a lot of pressure on me, ‘Oh, not only that [introducing] Jack Russell and then Elsa… Those are two of my favorite characters and I’m going to bring them up, but now you’re going to give me this too? “I have to bring all this to the table,” added the director. “But it was all done out of love for these things. I hope it comes and we hope you feel it. Because I love these characters.”
